Cold warnings issued for northern Alberta
Dec 5, 2022 | 5:09 PM
UPDATE: Environment Canada says the extreme cold warning has ended for the Grande Prairie-Beaverlodge-Valleyview forecast area but warnings remain in place for the rest of northwestern Alberta.
Extreme cold warnings are out for all of northern Alberta, including the Peace.
Environment Canada says the wind chill could be around -40 tonight while some areas could see a wind chill near -50.
The weather office says such warnings are issued when cold temperatures or wind chill make frostbite and hypothermia more of a risk.
