Peace region residents and officials receive QE II Platinum Jubilee medals

A long list of Peace region residents is to receive the Platinum Jubilee medals. These are for the late Queen Elizabeth II’s 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne as Queen of Canada.

Life members and past presidents of Alberta Municipalities, as well as sitting mayors and citizen community builders across the province, are all on the lists for recipients.

In Grande Prairie, seven residents were awarded the honour:

  • John Lehners*
  • Robert Nicolay
  • Kevin O’Toole
  • Gordon Graydon

Sexsmith’s Lucille Partington and Grimshaw’s Al Wearden will receive their Platinum Jubilee medal as recognized citizen community builders.
