Canfor reducing lumber production, promises “minimal impact” on Grande Prairie mill employees

Canfor says it will bring in production curtailments at its sawmills later this month.
A Canfor spokesperson says in an email to EverythingGP that the curtailments would affect the Grande Prairie mill for the week of December 26 through December 30.
The email says the curtailment would have what it describes as a limited impact on employees here because of the stat. holidays around that time.
Canfor says in a news release it is cutting 150 million board feet of lumber production company-wide because of what it calls “weak market conditions.”
