Environment Canada has issued freezing rain warnings for the Grande Prairie-Beaverlodge-Valleyview, Peace River-Fairview-High Prairie-Manning, and Hinton-Grande Cache forecast areas.

The weather office says the freezing rain is expected to move out of the area by this afternoon.

It cautions roads, sidewalks, and parking lots can become slippery in these conditions.

Environment Canada has also issued a special air quality statement for the Whitecourt-Edson-Fox Creek-Swan Hills forecast area.

It says smoke is causing poor air quality and reducing visibility.

The most affected areas are near the Yellowhead Highway, conditions are expected to improve this afternoon.
