Keep your mail and presents safe during the holiday season

Christmas-time brings an influx of deliveries to community mailboxes and porch steps.

The Grande Prairie RCMP is advising residents to try to make sure gifts are actually received this year as an increase in mail theft is noticed around this time of year.

Police say instead of sending physical money through the mail, to do so online with e-transfers and gift cards, with no chance of them being stolen.

With the influx of deliveries during the holiday season, Mounties suggest getting packages dropped off at your workplace if you cannot get a delivery while you are home, or for a trusted friend to accept on your behalf.
