Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital ED without a physician for 24 hours

The Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital will have no physician coverage in the Emergency Department until tomorrow morning (Tuesday, December 20) at 8:00 a.m.

Nursing staff will remain on-site during this time, providing urgent triage, assessments, and referrals to other EDs, however nursing staff can’t provide prescriptions or other services.

Patients are still asked to call 9-1-1 in case of an emergency as calls will be rerouted to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.

Pending on needs, patients seeking care at the ED should also be made aware of services available through local pharmacies.

This is the second closure for the Beaverlodge ED this month, and AHS said in a release they would like to thank residents for their patience and other health centers for their support at this time.
