Joint investigation by police on both sides of the Peace leads to two arrests

Jan 13, 2023 | 6:22 PM

Fort St. John RCMP say Mounties from the Alberta and BC sides of the Peace Country worked together on an investigation that led to the arrest of two people.

They say it started January 11 when Alberta and BC police started working together to locate a man wanted on warrants in both provinces.

A vehicle that had been stolen during a break-and-enter in Fort St. John was located in Grande Prairie. RCMP say between those two occurrences, the same vehicle was used in a series of break-and-enters at businesses in Dawson Creek.

The investigation led to a search of a hotel room and the arrest of a second man.

Corbyn Hubley has been charged with possession of stolen property and is being held in custody.

On January 12, Mounties got a report of a suspicious vehicle from the One Island Lake, BC area.

The original suspect was located there. He was arrested after trying to escape into the forest, with help from police from Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge, Fort St. John and Dawson Creek.

Daniel Davidsen is also being held in custody.

Police say the investigation into the break-ins continues. Anyone who can help the police is asked to contact their local RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers.
