New feel for Dream Home Lottery grand prize

Jan 13, 2018 | 7:22 AM

The 25th Annual Rotary Dream Home lottery has undergone some changes.

Raffle Manager Kevin Hilgers says they went for a different feel this time.

“This year is a stark contrast.  Some of the words that people use include ‘rustic’,  ‘ranch’, ‘mountain setting’, and warm and cozy.”

There is also no basement in the Taylor Estates home. The Rotary Club of Grande Prairie will receive the proceeds, which Hilgers says get dispersed across the city.

“For instance, a large chunk every year goes to the local hospital foundation.  Every year, groups and organizations approach the club and ask for funds.  Playgrounds, the library, even the Eastlink Centre.”

The home is open for viewing Thursday and Fridays 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
