Feb 14, 2023 | 6:00 AM

Sentencing dates set for former AHS official.

A former Alberta Health Services official convicted of sex-related charges involving an underage child will be sentenced in June.

Two days have been set aside for sentencing. The court will hear submissions on June 12 with a decision on the sentence set for June 13.

The accused was convicted on charges of sexual assault and sexual interference February 7 in Grande Prairie court. We are not using the official’s name because of a court-ordered publication ban that prohibits the use of any information that could identify the victim.

A legal principle that says an accused cannot be convicted of both offences means the sexual interference charge has been stayed.
