Fairview RCMP make arrest after suspect flees, crashes vehicle

The Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit with the support of the Fairview RCMP, located and arrested, what they describe as, a repeat offender after the suspect fled an attempted traffic stop and crashed their vehicle.

On February 15, Mounties located the suspect driving on the highway near Fairview and attempted to make a traffic stop.

However, the suspect fled at a high rate of speed. The vehicle he was driving was later seen veering off the road, where it went off an embankment.

After the vehicle was immobilized, Mounties made an arrest.

Thirty-nine-year-old Malcolm Testawits of Fairview is facing six charges including:

· Flight from police

· Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

· Driving while prohibited

· Possession of break-in instruments

· Fail to comply with release order (x2)

Testawits has been remanded and has a court date set for February 22.
