Grande Prairie athletes win nine medals at Special Olympics Alberta Winter Games

Grande Prairie athletes won nine medals: two gold, two silver, and five bronze at the Special Olympics Alberta Winter Games.

Grande Prairie competitors won gold and bronze in 5-pin bowling, another gold in curling, two silver and three bronze in snowshoeing, and a bronze in floor hockey.

The games took place February 24 to 26 in Strathcona County.

More than 1,200 athletes, staff, and volunteers from around the province participated.
