New principals named for two GPPSD schools

Two schools within the Grande Prairie Public School District will have new principals when the new school year opens in September.

Jason Wall will be the new principal at Charles Spencer High School, moving up from the vice-principal position that he has held since 2020.

Prior to that, Wall started with the district in 2014 as a teacher at the Comp before becoming vice-principal at Riverstone School in 2016.

Swanavon School will welcome Garth Paquette as its new principal in the fall.

He joins Swanavon from the Comp, where he has been vice-principal since 2013.

Paquette started with the public school district as a teacher in 2005.

Superintendent Sandy MacDonald says in a news release that they are proud of their school leaders who continuously challenge themselves and support their staff to further the success of their students.
