Grande Prairie Storm netminder Connor McKenzie will be playing NCAA hockey next season.
The Storm announced that the Toronto native has committed to joining the University of Vermont next season.
McKenzie was named the AJHL’s top goaltender this past season after tying for the league lead in save percentage, and played an important role in the Storm making the playoffs, earning team MVP in the process.
In addition to his accomplishments on the ice, Mackenzie initiated his “Lift the Mask on Mental Health” campaign, which brought Connor and his teammates into dozens of local classrooms to discuss and reduce the stigma associated with mental health.
