Grande Prairie high school football, badminton players going to provincial competitions

Three football players from Grande Prairie have made the North team that will play in the Senior Bowl High School All-Star Game.

Peace Wapiti Academy defensive back Logan Hansen, along with receiver Tyler Craver and running back Trae Best from St. Joe’s all made the 39-player squad after a recent training camp.

The 33rd annual North versus South game will be played on May 22 in Lacombe.

Meanwhile, the Comp. is sending three badminton players to provincials.

Nidhin Sunil and Srijan Khansili won gold in Boys Doubles while Kali Hordos won silver in Girls’ Singles at zones.

The Senior Girls Doubles team of Bianca Soriano and Jamaica Sarnaniego from St. John Paul II also won gold and will be at provincials.

Provincials will be held May 5 and 6 in Lloydminster.
