Work continues towards replacement for Peace Wapiti Academy
Peace Wapiti Public School District says it is working closely with the County of Grande Prairie to continue moving forward with plans for a new high school.
The school, which is set to be located north of Grande Prairie, will replace Peace Wapiti Academy, which is nearing capacity.
In a news release, PWPSD board chair Lori Grant says they are working with the County on a number of points, which include ensuring that the draft Area Structure Plan is approved, getting the school site serviced, and having the land title transferred to the school division.
Reeve Bob Marshall says in the same release that schools play an important role in creating vibrant communities, adding that they are pleased to see this new and modernized replacement high school being located in the County.
