Lights baseball games, Piranhas swim meet on this weekend

The Eastlink Centre pool and the diamonds at Evergreen Park will both be bust this weekend.

Baseball

The Northern Lights U18 AAA baseball team has two home doubleheaders this weekend against the Sherwood Park Athletics.

Game times are 3 and 6 PM Saturday and 9 AM and Noon Sunday.

All games at Diamond 5 at Evergreen Park.

The U15 AAA Lights play their first home games May 20 and 21 against the Black Gold 47s from Leduc.

Swimming

The Grande Prairie Piranhas will host one of their biggest meets of the year this weekend.

The Northern Lights Swim Meet runs Friday through Sunday at the Eastlink Centre.

The meet has attracted 11 teams and 300 swimmers, 120 of those competitors are with the Piranhas.

The teams come from across northern Alberta, with one coming from Campbell River, B.C.

Racing starts at 6 PM Friday, 9:30 AM Saturday and Sunday. The finals will start at 7:30 Friday night, Noon and 6 PM Saturday and 1 PM Sunday.

Because of the meet, public use will not be available at the Eastlink Centre aquatics area from 3 PM to close on Friday, all day Saturday and from 8 AM to 5 PM Sunday.
