Emergency measures taken by multiple Peace River Forest Area municipalities

Multiple municipalities inside the Peace River Forest Area have taken Emergency measures due to out-of-control wildfires.

Clear Hills County:

A wildfire Alert and local state of emergency has been issued in Clear Hills County, residents in the following areas are advised to be on high alert and prepare to evacuate.

  • Range Road 84 and the Clear River on the North side of Hwy 64.
  • Range Road 131 south to Township Road 842
  • Range Road 101 west on Township 874 (Clear Prairie Road)
  • Range Road 93 west on Township 864 (Worsley Area)
  • Range Road 84 – 93 on Township Road 84 (Cleardale area)
  • Range Road 51 West Township 844 (Montney Area)
  • Range Road 20 west on Township 841 (Whitelaw Area)
  • Range Road 14 west on Township 830 (Whitelaw Area)
  • Range Road 62 – Range Road 63 Township 872 (Eureka River Area)

MD of Fairview:

The Municipal District of Fairview says a wildfire between Range Road 25 and Range Road 32 north of Township Road 824 is being held. A state of local emergency is in place.

All residents living in the designated area are asked to prepare for a possible evacuation, which includes packing important, medicine, and documents, along with food and water for at least three days.

Northern Sunrise County:

All residents living north of Township Road 810 up to North Harmon Valley Road (Township Road 830) and east of Range Road 195, must prepare for a possible evacuation.

People are asked to gather important medication, and documents, along with food and water for at least three days.

Residents are also being reminded of some road closures:

  • Range Road 190
  • Township 820 – 812
  • All of Range Road 185
  • Township Road 814 East of
  • Range Road 192
  • Township Road 812 East of Range Road 192
  • Township Road 810 East of Range Road 192
