Emergency Alert issued for Cleardale after wildfire jumps fire guard

An Alberta Emergency Alert was issued late Thursday night for Cleardale and the Peace River banks near Highway 64 and Range Road 84 in Clear Hills County.
According to the alert, a wildfire has jumped the fire guard in that area late last night and was moving northeastward.
It adds that Highway 64 from Secondary Highway 726 to Cleardale may be closed with short notice due to the wildfire, and residents in that area should be ready to evacuate on a one-hour notice if necessary.
Those residents should be prepared to bring pets, important documents, medications, and enough food, water, and supplies to last at least three days.
