Charges laid after alleged theft and assaut in Cobblestone

A 26-year-old man faces several charges following a report of an assault and theft on Monday night.

Grande Prairie RCMP say just before 10 p.m. that night they responded to an incident in the area of 99 Avenue and 92 Street.

They say a suspect entered a business and attempted to steal items, before being confronted by an employee.

An altercation ensued and the suspect allegedly assaulted the employee and threatened to use a knife, before eventually fleeing the scene before police arrived.
