AHS hosting virtual and in-person events for National Indigenous Peoples Month

Jun 1, 2023 | 6:00 AM

Alberta Health Services is celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Month this year by hosting both in-person and virtual events.

Various education and awareness events will take place throughout June in Alberta, with the virtual celebration kick-off planned for June 1.

The kick-off is scheduled to start at noon and will feature the Senior Medical Director for Indigenous Wellness Core, Dr. Ester Tailfeathers and Executive Director of Indigenous Wellness Core Marty Landrie giving updates from each zone. There will also be a feature address, from AHS Wisdom Councillor Meeka Otway.

AHS said in the release, “By learning and inspiring each other, we can enhance an inclusive healthcare system that is welcoming and respectful to all cultures, traditions and beliefs.”
