Fatal pedestrian collision on 100 Avenue

UPDATE:

On June 2, at 3:24 p.m. RCMP, Fire and Emergency Services all attended the scene of a pedestrian collision at the intersection of 100 Avenue and 96 Street.

Preliminary investigations indicated a truck pulling a holiday trailer, travelling westbound on 100 Avenue, struck a child riding a bicycle.

The child suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital by EMS, however they succumbed to their injuries.

The intersection has now re-opened and Mounties continue to investigate.

Grande Prairie RCMP has reported the incident that took place on 100 Avenue and 96 Street was a fatal pedestrian collision.

Traffic is being re-routed at this time, however Mounties are asking the public to take an alternate route and avoid the area.

RCMP Collision Analysts continue to investigate the scene.

Grande Prairie RCMP said in the release, they would like to send their condolences to the families involved.
