RCMP CRU attempted traffic stop leads to dangerous driving and firearm charges
A Grande Prairie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, attempted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle in the downtown core on May 24, after they were seen driving recklessly in the area of 102 Street and 101 Avenue.
The suspicious vehicle then fled from mounties at a high rate of speed, however, he wasn’t pursued due to a risk to public safety.
Instead, officers monitored the suspect from a distance, before apprehending him, after he stopped in the Pinnacle Ridge area.
A search of his vehicle ensued and Mounties turned up a firearm with multiple rounds of ammunition.
