Suspect in custody for break-in, vehicle theft in Peace River

A 37-year-old man faces several charges following the theft of a vehicle in Peace River last month.

Peace Regional RCMP say they received a report in the early morning hours of May 7 of a vehicle that had been stolen from a business on Range Road 223 in that community.

Police add the stolen truck was driven through a fence and was found stuck in a muddy field.

Upon finding the truck, Mounties noticed evidence of ignition tampering.

The suspect returned to the business where the truck was stolen and was eventually arrested by RCMP.

Christian Singer faces charges of:

  • Break and enter
  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited
  • Breach of a conditional sentence order

He remains in custody and is due back in court in Peace River on June 12, 2023.
