Powwow exhibit opens at the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie

A brand new exhibit opens Thursday, June 15, at the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie.

“Powwow! Ohciwin the Origins” features seven powwow dances with full Regalia and craft work, created by Patrick and Marissa Mitsuing.

They worked with a team of Indigenous Artists from across Western Canada and the United States to assemble each of the individual dance regalia that will be on display.

The exhibition, which also includes local artwork, was organized and toured by the Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery.
