“Push-in” ceremony for new ladder unit in Peace River

Jun 20, 2023 | 4:29 PM

It is a tradition of fire departments around the world to hold a push-in ceremony to officially introduce a new apparatus into their fleet of vehicles.

Peace River Fire Department will hold a ceremony like that will take place this evening (Tuesday, June 20) to unveil their new Aerial Apparatus to the community.

The Pierce Enforcer 110-foot Ascendant Platform was purchased by the town and arrived at the fire department back in May.

Since then it has been outfitted with the necessary tools and equipment, while staff have received training in its operation.

Fire chief Tim Harris said in a news release that with the type of structures they have in the Peace River area, an apparatus with the capabilities brought by this unit has been long sought after.

He added they are very appreciative of the support and foresight of both past and current town councils to allow for this purchase to take place.

The “push-in ceremony for Ladder-1 will take place tonight at 6:30 at Fire Hall #1 in Peace River.
