National Indigenous Peoples Day parade and celebrations in Grande Prairie

Jun 21, 2023 | 11:30 AM

The Grande Prairie Friendship Centre is hosting events in the City today to mark National Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21).

At 5:00 p.m., there will be a parade starting at 113 Avenue and 102 Street in Avondale North, and ending at 102 Street and 102 Avenue.

The parade will be followed by a mini-round dance and food at the Friendship Centre, located at 10513 – 98 Avenue. A meal will follow the mini-round dance sponsored by West Fraser.

The GPFC invites everyone to come celebrate their diverse people and Indigenous culture in their activities this evening; either as a member of FMNI descent or an ally.

The events are held in partnership with the City of Grande Prairie and funded by the Celebrate Canada Grant through the federal government.
