Grande Prairie homes searched as part of Canada-wide firearms trafficking investigation
The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team executed search warrants at several homes across the province on Wednesday, June 21 as part of a Canada-wide investigation related to illicit firearms trafficking and manufacturing.
The operation is being led by EILTA, a Quebec-based integrated team that focuses on firearms trafficking, and also included searches of properties in Ontario, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.
Grande Prairie was one of the Alberta communities in which searches took place, along with Brooks, Lloydminster, Penhold, Innisfail, and Onoway.
Numerous 3-D printed firearms and other firearms parts were seized by ALERT, with those items now being analyzed.
