Busy Wednesday in local baseball

Wheatbelt Baseball League playoffs starting

The Grimshaw Huskies will visit the Manning Mets tonight (Wednesday, July 12) in the Wheatbelt Baseball League’s wild-card game. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:15.

The winner of that game will advance to play the Peace River in the semi-finals. The other semi-final match-up between the County Brewers and Rycroft Rage starts Friday in Rycroft. Game 2 Monday at the Crosslink County Sportsplex. All games start at 7:15 p.m.

Brewers hosting baseball clinics

The County Brewers are hosting some baseball clinics for young players, with the first ones set for tonight (Wednesday, July 12).

A session for under-11 players starts at 6:15 p.m. with one for under-13 kids starting at 7:30 p.m. Both are at Diamond 3 at Evergreen Park.

There is another clinic for U15 and U18 players on July 19, starting at 6:15 p.m. at Diamond 6 at Evergreen Park.

The clinic is free to all players in the Grande Prairie Minor Baseball Association

Reds teams meet in an exhibition game

The Grande Prairie Minor Baseball 13U AA and 15U AA Reds will play each other in an exhibition game tonight (Wednesday, July 12). Game time is 6:30 p.m. at Diamond 4 at Evergreen Park.
