Pioneer Days this weekend

The South Peace Centennial Museum is hosting its annual Pioneer Days Saturday and Sunday.

The museum is located two kilometers northwest of Beaverlodge on Highway 43.

Events start at 8 a.m. both days with a pancake breakfast (additional charge) going until 10 a.m. Food trucks will be available throughout the day. There is a beef barbeque dinner (additional charge) at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

South Peace Centennial Museum says those attending are encouraged to wear vintage costumes.

Entertainment and activities start at 11 a.m. all weekend with their newest attraction: train rides, as well as:

  • Country music
  • Local craft sale
  • Steam and vintage demos
  • Heritage demos
  • Vintage buildings open
  • Tractor parade
  • Kids activities

On Sunday, an ecumenical church service will be held at 11 a.m. following breakfast.

Things planned at Pioneer Days wrap up at 6 p.m. on Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Admission is $10 per adult and $5 per child, with those six years old and under getting in free.

Camping is also available (no services).

The next event at the South Peace Centennial Museum will be the Harvest Festival on September 9.
