Three-month Peace River RCMP investigation leads to two arrests

As part of an ongoing investigation that started in May, conducted by Peace River RCMP, two suspects who were allegedly trafficking drugs, have been arrested.

On July 13, RCMP executed a search warrant at the Terrace Trailer Park in Peace River.

As a result of their search, Mounties seized a number of items:

  • A flame thrower.
  • A large amount of .22 caliber ammunition.
  • A body armor vest.
  • 48.5 grams of cocaine.
  • 70.7 grams of methamphetamine.
  • 4.6 grams of fentanyl.
  • $1220 in Canadian currency.

As a result of the investigation, 43-year-old Peace River resident Bradley Victor Mornecy is facing six charges:

  • Trafficking cocaine.
  • Possession of cocaine with intent to traffic.
  • Possession of methamphetamine with intent to traffic.
  • Possession of fentanyl with intent to traffic.
  • Theft under $5000.
  • Possession of ammunition and a prohibited weapon while prohibited to do so.

Twenty-six-year-old Grimshaw resident, Jesse May Nadeau has also received five charges, including:

  • Trafficking cocaine x 2
  • Possession of cocaine with intent to traffic
  • Possession of methamphetamine with intent to traffic
  • Possession of fentanyl with intent to traffic

Morency and Nadeau both were brought before a Justice of the Peace and now have a court date set for July 24, with Morency being remanded into custody, while Nadeau was released.
