Grande Prairie Museum set to host Heritage Day celebrations
The City of Grande Prairie is inviting residents to celebrate multiculturalism and local history on August 5 for Heritage Day.
From noon to 5 p.m. at the Grande Prairie Museum and Heritage Village, residents can partake in a number of heritage-themed activities, including:
- Community and cultural booths.
- Live acoustic music.
- Old-fashioned games and carnival games with prizes.
- HAM radio demonstrations.
- Fiddler and Metis jigger.
- Fur trading activity.
- PARDS petting zoo.
- Local author and reading nook.
- Food trucks with cultural food dishes.

Mayor Jackie Clayton said in a release, “Heritage Day is a time to celebrate the history, diversity, and various cultures that make our community such a vibrant, connected, and inclusive place to live.”
