Seven medals, sixth place finish for Piranhas at nationals

The Grande Prairie Piranhas wound up with four gold and three bronze medals at the Canadian Swimming Nationals.

The last two medals, both gold, came from Oliver Dawson. He won the 50-metre breaststroke in a provincial record time, along with the 200-metre breaststroke.

Dawson ended the competition with four gold medals, three in individual events and one in a relay. He also broke two provincial records.

Jordan Greber won two bronze. Marley Monson won individual bronze and relay gold with Dawson, Mikayla Laurin, and Hudson Frayn.

The Piranhas club wound up in sixth place among U18 teams from across the country.

The competition wound up Sunday in Toronto.
