Road closure on Hwy 670 in Grande Prairie August 10-11

Culvert repair work starting Thursday in Grande Prairie will temporarily shut down access to 132 Avenue & Highway 670.

The road will be closed Thursday and Friday between Range Road 51 and Range Road 54 while the work is ongoing.

A detour will be available using 100 Avenue and Township Road 714.

On Thursday, August 10, 132 Avenue/Hwy 670 between Range Road 51 and Range Road 54 is temporarily closed for two days to facilitate repair work on a defective culvert.

The closure of 132 Avenue/Hwy 670 for culvert repair work is essential to address the structural issue promptly and prevent any potential hazards,” said Engineering Field Inspector, Monty Haughian.

“We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of the public as we work to maintain the integrity of our road network.”

Traffic will be directed onto a detour route using 100 Avenue/Township Road 714.

Access will be granted for local traffic.

Residents and motorists are advised to proactively plan their routes in alignment with the specified closure dates and adhere to the designated detour signage.
