Local places taking part in Alberta Open Farm Days

Alberta Open Farm Days are set for August 19 and 20, and some places in the Peace are taking part.

Evergreen Park will host barn tours before the horse races start on Sunday. There will also be wagon rides from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is a mini farmers market, kids activities, and ticketed Farm to Table dining that will include local specialty products.

Farm 2 Table on 51 near Sexsmith is offering tours of its flower patch on both days, which includes a dining table set among the flowers. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Good Food Farm near Sexsmith will also offer farm tours on Saturday, that includes seeing pigs living in their pastures, laying hens and other poultry, cattle herds, and farm equipment.

Sunflower & Swallow Gardens near Bezanson will host tours where people can see small animals and can pick sunflowers at a cost of $1.50 per stem.
