Jail sentence for man once wanted on a Canada-wide warrant

Alberta Justice says a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant earlier this summer has been given a 540-day jail sentence.

Jamison Hudgins of Grande Prairie was given the sentence after pleading guilty to charges of flight from a peace officer and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle August 14 in Grande Prairie court.

RCMP said that on July 1 this year, they located a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for violating parole conditions.

The man sped away in a vehicle. Police did not give chase.

The next day, the same vehicle was located parked in the alley behind a home near 98 Street and 111 Avenue.

The vehicle was rammed into a police vehicle several times. The suspect then hit some offices with bear spray. He took off on foot but was arrested.

Two offices and the suspect had to get medical treatment at the scene.

One of two men arrested in drug bust sentenced

Alberta Justice says one of the men charged in a drug bust in June of last year has been sentenced.

Bryce Mould of Grande Prairie was given a two-year conditional sentence order August 14 in Grande Prairie court after pleading guilty to one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking and resisting as a peace officer.

These sentences are served in the community.

Mould and another man, Jackson Uhrich, were charged after being arrested June 9, 2022.

A traffic stop in the Riverstone area led to a search that turned up 10 grams of methamphetamine and close to 84 grams of cocaine.

The charges against Uhrich were withdrawn in April.
