National Day of Truth and Reconciliation

Events marking National Day of Truth and Reconciliation planned for Saturday Muskoseepi Park

The Muskoseepi Park Amphitheatre will host several events to mark National Day of Truth and Reconciliation on Saturday, September 30.

The Grande Prairie Aboriginal Circle of Services says in a release that it will be a day of enriching Indigenous experiences.

The day will start with a pipe ceremony at 8:00 a.m.

Other cultural activities will include:

  • Smudging
  • Indigenous Crafts/Vendors
  • Story walk
  • Healing jingle dance
  • Traditional drummers and Metis jiggers
  • Presentations from Indian Residential School Survivor Rosanne Mustus and Indian Residential School Intergenerational Survivor Omarla Cooke.

The Grande Prairie Friendship Centre is holding its 5K Run & Walk To Support Truth & Reconciliation at the Muskoseepi Park Pavilion.

Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. The first 200 people to register will receive a race bib, swag bag, and unique medal.
