Airdrie missing child found in medical distress

Airdrie, AB – A four-year-old child reported missing Tuesday night in Airdrie is in critical condition in hospital.

RCMP responded to a complaint of a missing child around 6:15 pm. Shortly after receiving this call, RCMP received a call of a child found in medical distress.

Bystanders told police they had removed the child from a neighborhood pond and administered medical care until EMS arrived. The child was taken via ground ambulance to a Calgary hospital.

The investigation is continuing. RCMP say their received exceptional community co-operation in this investigation and are kindly asking everyone to be mindful of the privacy of the family during this difficult time.
