Grande Prairie hosting wildfire response training initiative

The Grande Prairie Fire Department is hosting a specialized wildfire response training program over the weekend.

The department says in a release that firefighting professionals and subject matter experts from across North America will be providing training on structural defense during wildfires to ensure firefighters are well-equipped to protect natural landscapes and urban environments.

The Responding to the Interface initiative is being made through a collaboration between the International Association of Fire Fighters and the Government of Canada.
