Unemployment rate up on the Alberta side of the Peace, down on the BC side

Statistics Canada says the unemployment rate for the area that takes in the Alberta side of the Peace Country was at 6.1 per cent in September.

It was at 5.1 per cent in September of last year and at 5.5 per cent in August.

The unemployment rate for northeastern BC was at 6.3 per cent last month compared to 6.4 in August.

Alberta’s unemployment rate was at 5.7. per cent, unchanged from the month before.

In BC, the unemployment rate edged up to 5.4 per cent from 5.2 per cent in August.
