Peace River man facing charges after business break and enter

Peace Regional RCMP have arrested and charged a 52-year-old Peace River man with no fixed address after a break and enter in the downtown Peace River area.

Mounties responded to the incident that occurred on September 27 on 94 Street, where a window to a business had been broken and items inside were stolen.

Surveillance footage was obtained by police for their investigation and later that same day, they were alerted of a suspicious male matching the description of the break and enter suspect.

The suspect, Derek Anthony Hartwick, was located, arrested, and charged with break and enter to a business and theft under $5,000.

He was released on an Undertaking condition and has a court date set for November 27, 2023 in Peace River.
