Province says harvest completion at 95 per cent as of October 10

The October 10 crop report from the province and AFSC said that 95.4 per cent of the crop in the Peace had been combined as of that date, up from 91 per cent in the October 3 report.

Almost all of the peas and spring wheat, 96 per cent of the barley, 93.6 per cent of the oats and 92.7 per cent of the canola had been combined.

The five-year average for October 10 is 73.5 per cent while the 10-year 79.3 per cent.

The report says 78 per cent of the forage and 92 per cent of the feed grain is adequate to surplus but 61 per cent of the hay quality is considered poor to fair.
