Opposition NDP seeking investigation into government’s pension consultation process

Alberta’s Opposition N-D-P finance critic is calling for an investigation into the province’s pension consultation process.

Shannon Phillips says she has written to the Alberta Ombudsman and that Albertans are being denied procedural fairness.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith’s United Conservative government has launched a provincial debate on quitting the Canada Pension Plan and creating an Alberta-only one.

An online public survey doesn’t ask Albertans whether they want to stay or leave the federal plan, but asks them what kind of Alberta plan they would want.
