Mutiple Brush Pile incidents

MD of Greenview urging residents to follow safe brush pile practices

The Municipal District of Greenview is advising residents to adhere to provincial guidelines when burning brush piles.

This comes after two separate incidents involving brush pile fires in the DeBolt area, one that resulted in deteriorating air quality for several days, and another that needed a multi-station firefighter response to extinguish the blaze.

Regional Fire Chief, Wayne Brawn says “lapses in following proper procedures can lead to serious issues,” and residents can always consult with the department if they are unsure of how to proceed.
