Dec 4, 2023 | 12:37 PM

Mounties in Fort Vermillion are asking for the publics help with gathering information related to a string of crimes that took place in the La Crete area last Friday.

On December 1, at approximately 7:08 a.m., Fort Vermillion RCMP was notified of a break-and-enter at the Buffalo Head Prairie Co-op, south of La Crete.

A suspect had gained entry to the store, damaged property, and fled in an unknown direction.

On the same day, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Mounties received a report of an armed robbery at Friesen’s General Store, North of La Crete that happened just five minutes prior.

Two suspects with masks entered the store at closing time, displaying a firearm and machete towards the store employee. One suspect entered the store and demanded cash from the employee. The two suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money in a dark-coloured pick-up truck.

The employee was not physically injured from the incident.

Both suspects are believed to be males in their 20s.
