Dec 8, 2023 | 1:50 PM

Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton is playing host to the FIS Snowboard Big Air World Cup on Friday, December 8, and Saturday, December 9.

Snowboarders from around the world, have come to compete and ride the giant scaffolding jump, with the qualifier currently underway.

Three-time Olympic Medalist Mark McMorris will be at the World Cup, however, he won’t be competing in the Big Air portion.

This event does serve as the first stop on the 2023/2024 Shred the North Series and is the second time it’s being hosted in Edmonton.

With this being the second year of the Big Air event, this year’s rendition will be slightly different, with more live entertainment planned, a different angle on the jump, and a separate rail section, which will host a Rail Jam on Saturday, before the Big Air Final’s.
