West Grande Prairie Regional Landfill changing operations

The West Grande Prairie Regional Landfill will be changing how it operates starting Tuesday.

The facility will continue accepting the same recycling and waste items but will now require residents unload their waste by hand into provided bins so they can be transferred to the Clairmont Centre for recycling and Waste management, while commercial clients will need to take their waste directly to Clairmont.

These changes were brought about after a recent study showed lower-than-expected cell capacity at the land fill. and further study was needed to assess the feasibility of adding additional cell space.
