Service disruption for the emergency department in Beaverlodge starting on Christmas Eve

Alberta Health Services says there will be no physician coverage for the emergency department at the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital from 8 a.m. on Christmas Eve until 8 a.m. Christmas Day.

Nurses will be there to provide assessments and triage.

People with a medical emergency can still call 911 as EMS will be available and would be rerouted to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital

AHS says if another doctor can be found to provide coverage, the disruption will be cancelled.
