Grande North Winter Festival returns in January

Dec 28, 2023 | 2:16 PM

The Grande North Winter Festival is returning to Grande Prairie.

From January 12 to the 14, three locations in the City will host a variety of free activities and amenities, with the highlight of the weekend, being ice carving outside the Bonnett’s Energy Centre.

The Montrose Cultural Centre and Muskoseepi Park will also hold free activities throughout the weekend.

In the release, the City says the Grande North Winter Festival was first designed as a way to celebrate the colder season and encourage community connection.

However, it will now also stimulate the local economy, with Mayor Jackie Clayton saying in the same release; “High caliber events like Grande North Winter Festival create a tourism draw for our downtown core, highlight our community’s vibrant spirit while supporting enhanced quality of life for our residents through free, family-friendly activities.”
