County urging people to stay safe with fireworks on New Year’s Eve

The County of Grande Prairie is urging residents to prioritize safety as they ring in the new year.

Residents are being reminded to be aware of their surroundings before setting off fireworks and have an emergency plan in case of unexpected incidents.

The County is also adds residents need a permit before setting off fireworks.

Residents have until 4:00 p.m. today (Friday) to apply for a permit before New Year’s Eve.
