Art Gallery of Grande prairie hosting Artist Talk with Aretha Laverne Feb.22

The Art Gallery of Grande Prairie is hosting an artist talk this Thursday afternoon (February 22) in recognition of Black History Month.

Artist Aretha Laverne will be visiting the gallery to discuss her history and influences.

Previously featured at the Gallery’s Jazz Influences exhibition, Laverne’s work is inspired by the effects nature has on anxious minds and ways art can be a therapeutic medium.

The Artist Talk is happening at the Gallery at 6:00 p.m. Thursday.

Laverne’s work will be featured in a TREX exhibition this coming September.
